WHAT SHOULD I BUY?
DRmyc currently offers three non-chemical substrate probiotics: ‘Just-the-Trich’ for severe Trichoderma contamination, ‘pureMGP’ which focusses on increasing the yields of gourmet Mushroom grows, and ‘TrichEVICT,’ an 80/20 blend of J.T.T and MGP that focusses on yield increases and contaminant reduction. Use cases typically fall into one of three categories:
“I have no contamination, but I’d love to increase my mushroom yields”
In this case, DRmyc’s pureMGP is the best choice – it is packed with 9 mushroom growth promoting microbes that increase nutrient availability, solubilize phosphates that to help potentiate your fungi’s ability to best express its genetics, transform atmospheric nitrogen into fixed nitrogen for uptake, and secrete VOC’s that spur natural growth, including Indole Acetic Acid and multiple natural Gibberellins. You can expect to see an increase in yields that often vastly exceeds 30% from using the same organic substrate matter when using pureMGP (in one treated/untreated comparison, a customer’s Blue Oysters increased from 70G to 158G, using TrichEVICT which is only 80% pureMGP).
“I have moderate Trichoderma or other contamination that interferes with my yields but I almost always get a first flush”
In this case, TrichEVICT would be your best option. Just 10ml (8 sprays) per 400G of substrate, and you will populate your substrate with 10 different microbes that will both protect from contaminants through biofilm formation, and increase yields through secretions of metabolites & VOC’s such as Indole Acetic Acid and natural Gibberellins that support increased mycelial propagation, fruiting and nutrient availability. If you use TrichEVICT and are still experiencing contamination issues, you may need to try our Just-the-Trich, our 100% anti-contaminant concentrate.
“I have severe Trichoderma or Contaminant issues. Usually before I put my substrate into the F.C. it already has visible contamination”
In this case, you likely have severe exogenous contamination present in your F.C. and fruiting chamber, and may have improper sterilization procedures. If you’re following a community verified “tek” to the letter (which you should, by the way) and still experiencing severe contamination, your environment is likely saturated with exogenous spores and other microbes. In this situation, use “Just-the-Trich” to treat your substrate when spawning to bulk, and refresher sprays or spot treat if you see any signs of contamination.
Just-the-Trich – for Severe Trichoderma Incursions
This 6G blend is exclusively focused on the treatment of aggressive Trichoderma Harzianum presence in mushroom cultivation environments along with other common bacterial and fungal contamination types. This particular blend cuts the incursion of Trichoderma on cakes down drastically – an effect that amplifies over time as fewer spores are released into the environment.
This blend does not increase fruiting productivity – in fact, you will see a reduction in fresh weight somewhere between 10-30% over a healthy, non-contaminated substrate. This blend is intended for those who wish to treat Trichoderma incursion that appears during or before the first flush. Trichoderma is a nuisance to deal with, and unfortunately, severe trich incursions require severe treatments. This blend is, however, 100% natural and USDA sanctioned for use with food-stuffs – there are no chemicals utilized to drive efficacy.
Just-the-Trich can be used in the following ways:
Substrate Spray: Simply add 2G to a 1L bottle, and spray your substrate when spawning to bulk, repeat weekly.
Tent Spray: The same as the substrate spray, only you spray the inside of your tent or fruiting chamber to proactively treat Trichoderma in the growing environment itself.
One 6G pouch will make 3 L of solution that will stay viable in an aqueous solution for up to a year when kept out of direct sunlight and in a cool environment.
Contaminant Protection Offered:
Blight and Fruit Rot (Alternaria spp.); Bacterial Blast, Blight, and Streak (Pseudomonas syringae, Bread Mold (Neurospora.); Black Mold (Aspergillus.); Pseudomonas viridiflava, Xanthomonas Spp.); Bacterial Fruit blotch (Acidovorax avenaesubsp); Trichoderma Harzianum; Sooty mold; Sour Rot; Southern Blight (Scerotium rolfsii); Sheath Spot and Blight (Rhizoctonia oryzae); White Mold (Sclerotinia sclerotiorum); White Rot (Scerotium cepivorum.)
PureMGP – Pure Mushroom Growth Promotion
MGP stands for Mushroom Growth Promotion – and DRmyc’s PureMGP is the world’s first blend of micro-organisms exclusively targeted towards that purpose. This formula encourages drastic yield enhancement and is suitable for use by amateur mycologists, hobbyist mushroom growers, and mushroom farmers alike. With DRmyc’s PureMGP blend, you can reliably expect an increase of between 30-70% in yields, while decreasing the time to fruit substantially.
This blend utilizes microorganisms that have the following effects upon your substrate, to promote healthy mycelium and bountiful fruiting bodies:
- Solubize phosphate
- Fix nitrogen
- Solubize zinc
- Solubize potash
- Release VOC’s that promote vigorous fruiting
- Decrease time to fruiting, sometimes as drastically as 50% versus untreated
- Increase yields substantially over the substrate lifecycle
- Increase the viability of secondary flushes & reduce contamination
- Strong passive resistance to bacterial contamination
If you have issues with Trichoderma Harzianum, please check out either our TrichEVICT 80/20 MGP blend, or purchase a pure contaminant reducer alongside your MGP to mix together as needed for the severity of your contamination issue.
TrichEVICT 20 – for Yield Increases & Trichoderma Inhibition
TrichEVICT is the world’s first Mushroom Growth Promoter that increases yields while simultaneously decreasing the negative effects of Trichoderma Hazardium on mushroom production. Packed full of 10 micro-organisms, this blend ensures your substrate is optimally positioned to produce beautiful fruiting while extending the life of your “cake.”
TrichEVICT is a great choice for those who have moderately frequent contamination issues. The Bacillus micro-organism that protects from Trichoderma incursion, does so through a bio-film that takes around 8 days to fully form. It is important, therefore, that this treatment be utilized first when “spawning to bulk.”
Directions for use: Add 2 grams of trichEVICT to a 1L sprayer bottle. Store bottle in cool areas, out of direct sunlight. Use the contents of the bottle within 6 months for best results. Mist substrate when mixing spawn and bulk substrate material, and then mix it in. At a minimum, 8-10 sprays should be utilized per 400G of bulk substrate material.
Alternative dry use: To use dry, add 1G to the substrate and mix in.
