This system is suitable to cultivators of any level as it’s really easy to grow and the yields are excellent. There really has never been a better time to grow your own mushrooms from home!
What is it?
We sterilise the grain spawn and add it with the pasteurised bulk substrate into a high quality “Unicorn Bag”. All you need to do is inoculate the bag with the liquid culture strain of your choice, leave it to colonise and then mix the mycelium with the substrate to get a high yielding bulk grow. The first flush is grown entirely in the bag and then you can decide how you’d like to fruit the next few flushes – our Shotgun Fruiting Chambers would be a great option. Step-by-step instructions are included and check out the video tutorial below, all you need to do now is decide which mushroom strain you’d like to inoculate it with.

Grain Spawn Kit
Corn soaked overnight and sterilized ready for inoculation.
Grain spawn is a great way to grow mushrooms in bulk, once your grain is colonized it can be used to inoculate a bulk substrate and allows for much larger yields. Grain spawn can be used to inoculate bulk substrates in a ratio of between 1-5 to 1-10. Your 800ml grain spawn tub can inoculate between 4l to 8l of bulk substrate. The more you stretch it the longer the colonization times and chance of infection.
This product is for advanced growers who are prepared to do further research into growing their relevant mushroom strain from grain spawn.
This product is provided uninoculated, you will still need to purchase a syringe of whatever mushroom strain you are looking to grow.

Shotgun Fruiting Chamber Combo
Get started on your mushroom journey with our beginner PF Tek Kit Combo. Fun, easy to use and low maintenance. Expect to yield around 300g per TEK Kit. This Kit comes with:
- 4 x PF Tek Kits
- 45l Shotgun Fruiting Chamber
- 2.5l Perlite
You will still need to purchase 4 x syringe cultures to inoculate your kits with.
All you need to do is follow our instructions to inoculate your kits www.myshrooms.co.za/growing-instructions.
When ready to fruit you can do so in our shotgun fruiting chamber which has been designed to create a suitable environment to maximize fruiting.
Simply pore in a layer of perlite (included in the kit) and add water until moist (not dripping wet)
When you fruit your PF Tek Kits place them on top of a piece of tinfoil over the perlite.
Bulk Grow Combo

The bulk monotub kit will teach you how to get started growing in bulk and consists of everything you need to take your myco journey to the next level with our tried and tested 13lt monotub, a sterilised grain, already measured out bulk substrate and all other accessories needed to sterilise while you work. The combo includes:
- 1 x 13lt Monotub
- 1 x Grain Kit
- 1 x 3l Bulk substrate (unpasteurised) consisting of coco coir, vermiculite, horse manure & gypsum
- 4 x gloves
- 1 x 100 ml Isopropyl Spray
- 1 x Polypropylene bag
Optional Extra: add a heating pad to increase the temperature of the substrate in your monotub by about 5 degrees. Plug not included.
You will still need to purchase 1 x syringe culture to inoculate your grain kit with.

Our new and improved PF Tek Kits include two inoculation ports which allow for half the colonisation time. A blend of Vermiculite and Brown Rice Flour, sterilized and ready for inoculation.
